Abstract

 The present article discusses the  functional approach to the study of the language as one of the most fundamental means of its investigation.It overviews different classifications of the functions of the language inherent in linguistics, considering  the   scientific classification the main organizer of the objects and phenomena which discovers internal patterns defining developments and changes in the investigated objects.
