Abstract

The present paper is a brief insight into the significance emotions hold in modern linguistics. References to emotions can be found in the works of ancient thinkers. Although modern linguistic theories provide deeper insights into the linguistic manifestations of emotions, a key concept underlies the observations and theories offered from ancient times to the present day: emotions play a pivotal role in reasoning, linguistic consciousness and thinking.
