Abstract

The paper is an attempt to describe the important role of phraseological units, proverbs and sayings in a language and to reveal their linguocultural peculiarities. The language material under study often causes difficulties for translators which may result in semantic inadequacy in a target language. A number of exercises, used in the learning process, are aimed at improving interpreting skills, enriching the learner's vocabulary and developing linguocultural knowledge.
