CODE SWITCHING IN ARMENIAN BLOGGERS’ SPEECH

Abstract

The paper examines the peculiarities of the oral and written speech of Armenian bloggers. The aim of the paper is to study the cases of English-Armenian and Armenian-English code switches as well as identify their nature and the reasons for their use. One of the main problems is the relationship between code switching and loan word. The results of the research allow to conclude that borrowings are part of the Armenian vocabulary, whereas code switches are just foreign units used in speech.
