THE “FRENCH IMPACT” OF WORLD WAR II IN E. HEMINGWAY’S LIFE AND WORKS

Abstract

The paper considers an episode of the mature stage in the life of the American classic E. Hemingway is considered. Тhe episode is defined and coloured by the events of World War II, it is lighted up here on the basis of little-known and still not translated into English materials, in particular, the letters sent to his correspondents from the war-torn Continent and liberated after the victory over the fascist occupants Paris, the city to which the writer was bound by inextricable creative ties.
