Abstract

The paper focuses on the discourse format of business negotiations as a form of institutional discourse, which emerges as a result of intersection of business and economic discourses. The study analyzes the linguistic and pragmatic features of business negotiations, phases, values as well as linguistic units and structures applicable within the framework of negotiations. The research findings also illustrate several types of business negotiations, corroborated by various examples, foregrounding “Principled Negotiation” model, developed by Harvard Negotiation Project.
