The article, presented in the form of études, examines and analyzes certain lexical forms from Northern Talyshi and Caucasian Persian (Tati)—two Iranian languages spoken in the Eastern Transcaucasia. These languages have a history of continious and close contact with non-Iranian languages, including Indo-European and Caucasian languages of the region. This makes them particularly significant for the study of language contact in general and areal linguistic phenomena in particular.
