    Abstract

The effect of dimethyl- and diethylsulfones on the thermal denaturation of DNA was studied by UV/vis, fluorescence spectroscopy and densimetry. It is revealed, that sulfones show expressed denaturing ability. The denaturing ability of sulfones increases with the increasing of carbon chain length of sulfones, which indicates the contribution of hydrophobic interactions.

SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF THE THIOCYANATE IONS USING THIONINE BASIC ORGANIC DYE

    Abstract

The optimized conditions for measuring thiocyanate by extracting through formation of ion pair with thionine basic dye (Lauth's violet) have been determined by means of spectrophotometric method. Thionine was extracted at the presence of thiocyanate and has absorption spectrum at the 600 nm wavelength. The increase in the intensity of absorption takes place, because of thionine and thiocyanate ionic associate (ion pair) formation and transfer to the organic phase (extraction). In this investigation all parameters were kept constant except the one to be optimized. The optimal conditions for the determination of thiocyanate ion by means of thionine are the following: solvent – methylisobutyl keton; [thionine] – 1.566·10–4 mol/L; medium acidity – pH 6–7; temperature – 30°C; ionic strength – 0.0; extraction process duration – 240 s.

    Abstract

Reactions of asymmetric aldol condensation of Nill complex of the Shiff base of glycine and chiral auxiliary (S)-2-N-[N’-(2-fluorobenzylprolyl)amino]benzophe-none Nill-(S)-2-FBPB-Gly by benzaldehydes 4-CH3O-C6H4CHO, 3-Br-4-CH3O-C6H3CHO were investigated. As a results the synthesis of new enantiomericaly pure phenyl substituted derivatives of Tyrozine (2S, 3S)-β-oxy-4-OMe-Tyr (ee 91%) and (2S, 3S)-β-oxy-3-Br-Tyr (ee 92%) is carried out.

    Abstract

The reaction of maleic anhydride addition to ionol-stabilized divinyl-acetylene polymers in a commercial lacquer ethynol product over a temperature range of 80–190°C in hydrocarbon and aprotic polar solvents has been studied. By IR spectroscopy, gas-liquid chromatography methods and chemical analysis of polymer double bonds and anhydride groups has been shown that maximum degree of addition is about 7 mol%. The obtained results have shown that maleic anhydride adds to divinylacetylene polymers at the end vinylacetylene groups of a molecule, probably by a diene synthesis reaction.

    Abstract

New derivatives of γ-lactones have been obtained by means of alkylation of 2-ethoxycarbonyl-4-substituted pentanolids and further hydrolysis of the synthesized products. New derivatives of 1,2,4-triazoles, containing hidroxyl groups in lateral chain, have been synthesized on the base of the latters.

    Abstract

On the base of 2,3,4,5-tetrahydro- and 2,5-dihydro-4,5,5-trimethyl-2-oxofuran-3-carbonic acids were synthesized aniline, morpholine, piperidine and pyridinium salts. Antimicrobial activity of synthesized salts was studied and its dependence on the structure of synthesized salts was revealed.

    Abstract

Vegetative mechanisms of negative emotional states’ development and regulation, in experimentally modelled negative psychoemotional environment at teenagers are investigated. Dependence of dynamic changes of vegetative regula-tion of cardiovascular system on gender and self-appraisal level of examinees under the influence of negative psychoemotional environment is revealed.

    Abstract

The genotoxicity of soil pollution by heavy metals in Yerevan city with the application of Trad-SH (stamen hairs) and Trad-MN (micronuclei in tetrads of microspores) tests of Tradescantia (clone 02) was investigated. Possible contri-bution of heavy metals contents in soil samples from different regions of the city was taken into account as well. The highest level of genotoxity was marked in the soil samples from Proshian, Leningradian and Azatamartiknery streets, and lowest – A. Manoogian and Tsarav Akhbyur streets. The results obtained were shown to correlate with heavy metals concentration in soil samples.

    Abstract

Histomorphological features of lake frog’s (Rana ridibunda) skin, living in coastal zone of the Hrazdan river, differing by impurity high level of waters are studied. Some destructive and adaptive-compensatory changes of the animals’ skin living in zones with high level of impurity are described.
