Abstract

On the occasion of the Professional Days of Forester, Hydrologist and Meteorologist, at the initiative of the Faculty of Geography and Geology of YSU, with the financial support of the Committee on Higher Education and Science of the RA Ministry of Environment (Research Project No. 24WS-1E035), an international  conference entitled "Current Issues in Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring in a Changing Climate: Adaptation, Sustainability and Production Process" was held from May 04 to 07, 2026. The purpose of the conference is to discuss achievements and prospects for the development of fundamental and applied scientific research in the field of hydrometeorology, environmental monitoring, and environmental safety, to identify and highlight the main problems, development patterns, and prospects in the field of hydrometeorology, to assess its role in solving the region's socio-economic problems, to analyze and evaluate the current state of the environment, climate change issues, interdisciplinary problems in the development of scientific ecological-geographical and tourist-recreational research to enhance their effectiveness, demand, and practical significance in the context of modern scientific and technological development. During the conference, they will also discuss the development of modern society and issues of economic management, legal regulation of the ecosystem, as well as problems of environmental and hydrometeorological education in the Republic of Armenia.
