Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • The editorial board and the editors will consider only those materials that will be sent through the electronic platform journals.ysu.am, choosing the State and Law journal. Articles should contain no more than 25,000 characters, including footnotes. Materials are accepted if there is a guarantee from the departments of the relevant universities, departments of research institutions, as well as a legal-scientist’s opinion. The title of the article, abstract (at least 150 words), information about the author and keywords (at least 7 words) must be presented in Armenian, English and Russian. When determining the volume of materials, please proceed from the following requirements: the text is printed on regular A4 paper with 1.5 line spacing, the font of the main text is 12 pt, the font of the footnote is 10 pt, the margins on the left, top, right and bottom are 2 cm, Unicode font "Arial Unicode". When using normative acts, the text indicates their type (RA law, decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia, etc.), the period of adoption (date of adoption in numbers, month in letters, year of adoption in four-digit numbers, for example, December 12, 2021), in quotation marks, full (without abbreviations) name (for example, not the Republic of Armenia, but the Republic of Armenia). In this case, it is enough to indicate the source of publication in a footnote. In the text, you can indicate the type of act, date and abbreviated name without quotes, which will give a correct idea of the document. On the first page of the article, after the title, there is information about the author (in three languages), which will be reflected in our periodical: Full name. author, position and place of work, if any, scientific degree and title. For example: Associate Professor of the Department of Civil Law of YSU, Ph.D. in Law. On the last page, the author mentions contact information.

Privacy Statement

Names and e-mails entered on this journal’s website. e-mail addresses will be used exclusively for the purposes specified by this journal and will not be used for any other purpose or provided to other persons and organizations. Personal data about the authors of the article, which are mentioned in the material submitted to the editorial office for publication, are subject to publication for public access. When registering a user (as a reader, reviewer, author) on the site, you should specify only the personal data that the user is potentially willing to provide when uploading an article as author information for their publication in the public domain.

  1. The ethics of scientific publications is a system of norms of professional behavior in the relations between authors, reviewers, editors, and publishers in the process of creating, distributing and using scientific publications.
  2. In the course of his activity, the editor is responsible for the publication of works protected by copyright, which requires following the following fundamental principles:
  • When making a decision on publication, the editor of a scientific journal is guided by the principles of scientific significance, objectivity, professionalism and impartiality.
  • The editor must evaluate the intellectual content of the manuscripts, regardless of the gender, views, citizenship, social status and preferences of the authors.
  • Unpublished data obtained from manuscripts submitted for discussion should not be used for personal purposes or disclosed to third parties without the written consent of the author.
  • The editor should not allow information to be published if there are sufficient grounds to believe that it is plagiarism.
  1. Plagiarism is the intentional misappropriation of someone else's scientific work, ideas, or inventions. Plagiarism can be a violation of copyright and patent law and as such can give rise to legal liability.
  2. To exclude possible plagiarism, the editor is obliged to check the manuscript of the article using special programs.
  3. The editor should not leave unanswered the claims regarding the revised manuscripts or the published materials, and should take all necessary measures to restore the violated rights if a conflict situation is discovered.
  4. The reviewer carries out a scientific examination of copyrighted materials, as a result of which his actions must be impartial, based on the following principles:
  • Material received for review should be treated as a confidential document that may not be shared or discussed with third parties.
  • The reviewer is obliged to give an objective and justified assessment of the presented research results. Personal criticism of the author is unacceptable.
  • Unpublished data obtained from submitted manuscripts should not be used by the reviewer for personal purposes.
  1. The author (or group of authors) bears the responsibility for the novelty and reliability of the results of the scientific study, which implies compliance with the following principles:
  • The authors of the article must present the reliable results of the conducted research. Deliberately false or falsified claims are unacceptable.
  • Authors must guarantee that the study results in the submitted manuscript are completely original. Borrowed passages or statements must be formulated with a mandatory indication of the author and source. Excessive borrowing, as well as plagiarism in any form, including loose citations, paraphrasing, or misappropriation of other people's research results, is unethical and unacceptable.
  • It is necessary to recognize the contribution of all those who have had a role in one way or another for the study, in particular, the article should give references to the works that were important for the study.
  • Authors should not submit to the journal an article that has been submitted to another journal and is under consideration, as well as an article that has already been published in another journal.
  • All persons who have made significant contributions to the study should be listed as co-authors of the paper. Among the co-authors, it is unacceptable to mention those persons who did not participate in the study and preparation of the article.

If the author finds significant errors or inaccuracies in the article, he should inform the editorial board of the journal as soon as possible during the discussion stage or after publication.
