The main directions of the foreign policy of the First Prime Minister of the First Republic of Armenia Hovhannes Kajaznuni
AbstractThe article covers in detail the main directions, priorities of the implementation of the country's foreign policy strategy presented in the draft program of the interim government of the First Republic of Armenia, presented in the first sittings of the parliament, the difficulties of overcoming them. Special attention was paid to the approaches and comments of the Prime Minister Hovhannes Kajaznuni on the external orientations of the Republic of Armenia set forth in the manuscript of the above-mentioned program, which were not published at the sittings.

Тhe trends of militarization of the foreign and regional policy of modern Turkey
AbstractTurkish current foreign and regional policy characterised as militaristic and oversecuritized, is being accompanied with the nationalistic and irredentist official rhetorics, which tends to revise the status-quo in the neighbouring regions. The article analyses the intensive use of military power in regional policy, the strategy based on the military interventions and proxy wars in the neighbouring regions and countries. Theoretical and academic approaches on the militarization and securitization of the Turkish foreign and regional policy and the influence of external and domestic factors on it were also viewed. Turkish military interventions and proxy wars in Syria, Libya, Iraq, provocative and aggresive behavour in the Eastern Mediterranian were observed. As a continuation of Turkish revisionism and interventionism, the South Caucasus became the next target of Turkish ambitions, when in 2020 Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem, with the involvement of foreign jihadist fighters, launched a full-scale war against Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.

The Status and Military-Political Role of Russian Military Bases in the South Caucasus (1995-2021)
AbstractThe article addresses the role and military-political problems of Russian military bases in the South Caucasus republics in the given period, as well as the legal basis regarding the deployment of the abovementioned bases.
The article also touches upon the importance of the Russian military base in Armenia in both bilateral and CSTO framework. It analyses the military and political reasons for the withdrawal of Russian bases from Georgia and Azerbaijan.
The paper also explores a number of military-political and legal issues pertaining to the Russian military bases in Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

The second Karabakh war in the context of covering events in the Russian media and expert evaluations
AbstractThis article is based on an expert survey conducted during the Second Artsakh War. The main goal was to understand the Russian public discourse on the Artsakh issue, separating the opinions presented in the social surveys, the media field and the assessments of Russian experts. It is interesting to compare the general position of the Russian leadership on the Artsakh war, and analyze its impact on the state propaganda.

Former African Colonies of France in the Focus of Attention of the Great Powers
AbstractThe growing attention of the great powers to the mineral-rich African region with other potentials was the reason why the African continent became a subject of conflict of interest and competition. In this context, in a number of parts of the region, including the former French colonies, there was a struggle between the United States, the USSR, China. Against the background of the political interests of the major international players in Africa France has moved from a unilateral policy to a multilateral one, in which the traces of the creation of the EU are more noticeable․

Types of security strategies of small states: compilation and opposition
AbstractThe article analyses and groups some security strategies of small states towards the great powers according to the principle of their final result - the impact on the security and independence of the state. It is hypothesized that all strategies of small states can be grouped into four groups: compilation, opposition, self-exclusion, and application. In particular, a list of strategies and the main characteristics of strategies are given, which, according to their final results, can be attributed to the first two groups. The main conditions for the realization of these groups of strategies are also identified. In the conclusion, the main differences and commonalities of these two groups of strategies are noted.

Simplification in political communications
AbstractThe goal of political communications is to obtain, exercise and stay in power. The struggle for power and the implementation of political goals necessarily involves the use of manipulative techniques. This article deals, in particular, with the use of simplifications in political communications. The language of political communication not only reflects the political regime, but also determines the political discourse. In democratic countries, the discourse of politicians is very close to that of voters, while non-democratic elites try to emphasize their distance from ordinary citizens. Democratic leaders often simplify the political texts, which not only accelerates and intensifies the impact on the audience, simplifies communication between the people and the authorities, but also reduces the social distance between them. In the process of political simplifications, essential problems and arguments are pushed to the backstage, some problems are proclaimed as pseudo-problems, or it is pseudo-problems that are brought to the forefront. The use of simplifications reduces the scope and need for rational argumentation in political discourse. Simplifications are often used by populists, who replace rational argumentation with anti-elite and anti-pluralist slogans that emphasize social polarization in society and promise to get rid of the corrupt elites.
Content analysis of N. Pashinyan's Facebook page shows that N. Pashinyan not only generously uses various simplifications in his political communications (in particular: spontaneity and informality, selective presentation of information and facts, myths), but also creates his own simplification techniques, including: the exceptionalism, representation of the people as the central subject of political power, the belittlement of one's own role, responsibility shifting, logical inconsistencies, simplified interpretations of complex phenomena, conspiracy theories, threats and theatricalization.
Simplifications have proven to be effective in political struggles. However, the overuse of simplifications in political communications can cause simplifications to migrate from the ordinary language into educational, scientific, labor and, of course, political discourses, depriving them of rational argumentation.
