    The Peculiarities of Institutionalization of Public Relations in RA

    Abstract

    The article is devoted to the problems of public relations technologies in the context of the democratic transformations in Armenia. The author analyzes the existing approaches to the relationship of PR and democracy. According to the first: PR is not only an applied science and practice of reputation management, but also a unique tool for democracy, which increases the transparency of public-political and economic life, is an important tool for achieving consensus in society. The second approach draws attention to the trend of increasing the use of manipulative technologies in the meantime increasing of democratization level of society. The author brings the main problems that are preventing or retarding the development of PR-technologies in Armenian society.

    The Institutionalization of Social Work in Armenia

    Abstract

    The specialty “Social Work” is the acquisition of post-Soviet Armenian Society. The main ideas about the profession were imported into Armenia just after the earthquake in Spitak, after which the Society appeared under the oppression of wide range of social problems. First social workers started to solve these problems promoting the implementation of the professional culture in Armenia. Step by step their efforts led to the institutionalization of Social Work in Armenian Society. In the article the author also discusses problems relating to the status of profession in the Society. Bringing different arguments the author concludes that in general Social Work is institutionalized in modern Armenia.

    Opportunities of Development of Early Warning and Conflict Prevention System in the Armenian Army

    Abstract

    Contemporary theories of conflict are emphasizing the need for development of professional intervention tools for latent conflicts or pre-conflict stages of conflict processes. The article analyses the opportunities of elaboration of early warning and conflict prevention system in the Armenian army, particularly examining the relationships between private soldiers. The main conclusions and suggestion are based on the analysis of qualitative data gathered in the framework of sociological research, implemented in March 2010 by the Faculty of Sociology, Yerevan State University. The relationships between the soldiers are examined as a phenomenon possessing a differing level of conflict potential, which requires various means for monitoring of conflict sources and utilizing preventive actions.

    In the article the author marks the need of sociological research for problems of the social safety, arising social dangers and threats to the population of the country. Then Professor Margulyan considers such terms as "danger" and "threat" in the context of researching terms "cause" and "risk". The author focuses on the idea that only democratic transformations of our society can eliminate revolts and other conflicts.

The author describes the real model wherephilosophical representations about parity of necessity and accident collide. His ideas have been based on ideas of the leading scientists in the given area, and now professor Brazevich puts forward the idea that development of synergetic approach and political dynamics can show a new vision of unity of the world.

    On the Question of Conflict Analysis in Modern Western Sociolog

    Abstract

    The article is devoted to the analysis of necessity, possibilities and timeliness of revision of theoretical resources of conflict analysis in modern sociological theory. The formation of conflict theory, its main postulates as well as problems and prospects of its further development are considered. Taking into account the overall logic of modern sociological theorization, transformation of theoretical and methodological basics of conflict analysis are viewed in broader reflective context. Article reviews theoretical and methodological variety of approaches to conflict, compares principal accents of classical and modern, i.e. post-newclassical conceptions and underlines promising developments of current sociological thought. Therefore, the article argues a thesis of transformation of conflict paradigm in modern sociology, determined mostly by social-historical and general methodological factors, which are viewed as correspondingly external and internal contexts of the transformation.
