Germany's Position on the Bolshevik revolution (October 1917 - March 1918)

The article highlights the factors determining Germany's position on the Bolshevik coup, the complex geopolitical situation in Transcaucasia during the crucial period from October 1917 to March 1918, as well as the nuances of Germany's Transcaucasian policy in terms of its priority interests in the region․
The rise of the Bolshevik government, the collapse of the old imperial order and the emergence of independent states significantly changed the political picture of the region, having an impact on Germany's domestic political life and foreign policy decisions as well.
The article highlights Germany's economic interests, strategic approaches and diplomatic relations, as well as the positions of individual political circles towards the Bolshevik coup. It traces how Germany's perception of the Bolshevik government evolved over time and how this influenced its policies in the region.
