This study briefly examines Turkey’s media landscape during the government of AK party. It shows the main reasons of current media-reality and essential peculiarities, which are intertwined with political and socio-economic developments of the era. This study argues that though the government is controlling the media and created very strict conditions for professional journalism, Turkish media is still having some developments and transformations, which are also result of global technological innovations.
