Abstract

Anatomical structure of gametophyte and moss-capsule (sporogonium) footlet of 20 representatives of true mosses belonging to the various families and ecological groups, spread in the hemiarid zone of Ararat valley, was studied. According to the preliminary data three types of stem structure of true mosses can be distinguished. It is noted also the essential variability of anatomical peculiarities of stem anatomy in comparison with the more conservative structure of plate of leaf and with the more monotonous structure, on the whole, of moss-capsule footlet.
