The dynamics of clastogenic effect of different water samples from the Hrazdan River using the Trandescantia micronucleus (Trad-MCN) assay in different months of the year during two years (2000–2001) was studied. The cytagenetic assessment of water samples from 6 points of Hrazdan River, passing through Yerevan, into which everyday municipal effluents run is given. Both time and space heterogenicity of clastogenic activity of river water components is revealed caused by municipal and technogenic loads of Hrazdan River on the territory of Yerevan.
