Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Historia: Philosophy & Theory journal publishes 2 types of articles:

 Research Articles: 4,000 – 10,000 words.

Review Articles: 2,000 – 5,000 words.

 The language of the journal is English.

All contributions must be in a format compatible with MS Word, written in Times New Roman with a single line spacing, size 11. A4 paper, portrait orientation, 2.5 cm all margins. There should be no words in bold text.

 Submission implies that:

·       the submitted work is original and has not been previously published,

·       it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere,

·       all co-authors (if any) have approved submission for publication,

·       permission to publish has been authorized by the responsible governing bodies of the research institution, whether through an explicit or implied process.

 In accordance with the journals guidelines, authors are invited to arrange their articles in the following order:

·       Title

·       Author and affiliation

·       Abstract

·       Keywords

·       Introduction

·       Text (with several chapters)

·       Tables, Figures, Diagrams (if necessary)

·       Conclusion

·       Acknowledgements (if any)

·       Notes (if any)

·       References

 Title:

·       should be concise, correspond to the content of the article and include the clear position of the author(s).

 Abstract:

·       must be concise, 200-300 words,

·       should offer informative content, avoiding the use of generic terms and phrases,

·       is expected to encapsulate both the research itself and its findings,

·       It should effectively convey key aspects of the article, encompassing the subject matter, research objectives, results, and conclusions,

·       should avoid duplicating information found in the article title within the abstract,

·       should offer readers a clear insight into the articles primary message.

 Keywords:

·       should be up to eight,

·       should be separated by a comma and end by a full stop.

 Introduction:

·       The introduction serves as the broader context for the research, outlining its purpose, scope, research methodology, and the significant factors considered by the author(s),

·       Each article should commence with an initial section that may be titled ‘Introduction.’ This section is designed to present the research study, the thesis statement, and the rationale behind the research’s significance,

·       The primary goal of the introduction is to pique the interest of readers and convince them to engage with the article. It achieves this by offering a compelling context for the research.

 Main text:

The primary purpose of the main article text is to elucidate the research topic. Consequently, it is recommended to address the fundamental questions that may arise among readers.

 References:

APA citation system must be used for the in-text citations and references.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
