    Abstract

    After the collapse of the Soviet Union and the “importation” of democratic and liberal ideologies in line with fundamental social and political transformations led to the change in the discourse on the Armenian rural lifestyle, in the place identities and in self-governing systems. Reform, directed to the development of self-government system in the Post-Soviet Armenia, the social programs meaning to overcome the social issues of the Armenian rural communities, formed a new geopolitical situation, that simultaneously tremendously changing local realities of rurality. Social problems linked to land use, family welfare, migration, place attachment and attraction with urban lifestyles have been actual up to present day, especially among the young people. Observation of place identity as a locally and spatially conditioned phenomenon is common presently in the study of social issues of local communities. According to contemporary sociological approaches, place identity has social prefixes and is reflexive towards social space. The aim of the research is to reveal the changes in place identity and place attachment features within the Armenian rural communities through examination of youth’s perceptions around the rural lifestyle. Relying on secondary analysis of the research data, in-depth interviews among villagers and focus group discussions (8 FGD among village youth) the paper discusses the dynamic interrelation of place identity, social space structures and changing social practices in the Armenian rural communities.

    Abstract

    The article examines the relationship between the level of constitutionalism and state capacity. Analysing the main approaches to assessing the state's capacity, the system of indexes of capacity was given in a generalized manner. The article also draws parallels between the indexes of capacity and the indexes of assessment of the level of constitutionalism.

    Abstract

    The article presents the main prerequisites of the insolvency of the RA organizations and examines the main provisions of economic and legal regulation of bankruptcy. Identifying some of the key issues of bankruptcy prevention and management, it outlines the main mechanisms of bankruptcy regulation and shows the most comprehensive solutions to the problem. The latter are based on the localization of the best international experience, taking into account the specifics of the settlement of the bankruptcy process in RA.

    Abstract

    In this paper, main determinants of internal and external migration from the communities of Armenia were reviewed. Based on the Human capital model of migration, ordinary regression models, as well as spatial econometrical models were estimated, particularly spatial autoregressive model and spatial error model. Geographically weighted regression was estimated in order to show the distribution of the determinants of migration on the map.

    Abstract

    The current study is devoted to the examination and quantification of the influence that human capital exerts on energy sector, in particular on energy efficiency. Emerging countries are studied with a certain emphasis on countries of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Overall, 85 countries are taken for the analysis. As a method of research, panel data analysis is selected. In this context, main panel and panel of CIS countries are estimated. The results reveal that human capital has a significantly positive influence on energy efficiency in case of both panels. Interestingly, for CIS countries that impact is stronger. Besides human capital, positive impact is received for the level of economic development. Conversely, negative effect on energy efficiency is evidenced for the level of industrialization and urbanization, and electricity consumption. For the sample of CIS countries, the impact of urbanization, however, is proved to be insignificant.
