    Axiomatics of the poetic supertextual units

    Abstract

    The article presents the substantiation of the term "poetic supertextual unit" introduced by the author to denote an integrative concept that combines such forms of organization of poetic texts as a crown of sonnets, a lyric cycle and a book of poems.

    First of all, the fundamental difference between this term and the adjacent concept of “supertext”, which is a set of thematically related texts created at different times by different authors, is determined.

    For the explication of the concept of "supertextual unit" the method of step-by-step expansion of the semantics of the term is used. The main parameters of the supertextual unit, which characterize each of the named forms into an integral unit, are identified and studied in detail.

    A preliminary study made it possible to identify the most significant parameters of the supertextual unit. These parameters are stable, although with varying intensity, in the crown of sonnets, the lyrical cycle and the book of poems. These are: a closed set of texts, a common title, orderliness, interconnectedness, complementarity.

    The last three parameters determine the cohesion of the supertextual unit, which is not identical to the intratext cohesion. The intratextual coherence is provided mainly by the syntagmatic expansion of the text. The cross-textual connections are manifested mainly in the paradigmatic comparison and opposition of the semantic systems of the components of the supertextual unit due to the presence of multilevel cross-textual repetitions that ensure the emergence of structural, associative and connotative links between texts. Paradigmatic connections predetermine the emergence of semantic tension between texts, as a result of which new meanings are generated.

    Stable connotations of mythopoetics of white color in A. Blok's works: from «Verses аbout the Beautiful Lady» to «The Twelve»

    Abstract

    The connection between the symbolism of the final image of Christ and the mythopoetics of the “Verses about the Beautiful Lady” occupies a peripheral position in the extensive literature devoted to A. Blok's poem “The Twelve”, despite the fact that many mythopoetic features in Blok’s late lyrics were formed in “Verses аbout the Beautiful Lady” or in certain correlation to them. The article observes the genesis of mythopoetic concept of white color in Blok's early lyrics in the context of connotations relevant to the finale of “The Twelve”, which were formed under the influence of Andrey Bely's ideas. The formation of the mythopoetic semantics of white color in Blok's early lyrics was significantly influenced by the mystical interpretation of the color symbolism by A. Bely and the discussion of the subject in the early correspondence of the two poets. However, Bely's ideas underwent certain refraction in the Blok’s artistic consciousness. The cycle 15 poems by Blok published in 1904 in the almanac “Grif”, his book “Poems about Russia” (1915) as well as the finale of the poem “The Twelve” (1918) have been analyzed from the point of view of mythopoetic concept of white color. Special attention has been paid to the compositional features of the studied pieces. The analysis shows that the actual connotations of white color mythopoetics in these works are associated with the dialectical triad and the idea of ​​synthesis, as well as with the motifs of love and fidelity, referring to the biblical context.

    Pragmatic and manipulative potential of personal pronouns in political discourse

    Abstract

    The article considers the pragmatic and manipulative of personal pronouns in political discourse. Despite the main deictic meaning, personal pronouns perform different functions in political discourse. Their main feature of pronouns is that they are the main factors of manipulating society. The choice of politics or other pronouns of the properties of various factors: political, geopolitical, social, psychological, etc. The use of pronouns makes the politician's speech more expressive and, what is the most important, more effective in the process of achieving the main goal of political discourse - a struggle for power/preservation of power. Personal pronouns express a wide variety of meanings in political discourse, up to the exact opposite. So, for example, the personal pronoun we can express both the idea of ​​unity and solidarity (inclusive we), and, conversely, the idea of ​​separation and distancing (exclusive we). Personal pronouns contribute to the implementation and explication of the dichotomy “friend or foe” - the most important component of political discourse. Personal pronouns have in political discourse evaluative connotations and express one of the main postulates of political discourse: “friend (we, ours) is good, and foe (they, theirs) is bad. Personal pronouns help the politician to inspire the people / electorate that the people's interests are taken into account; that the politician and the people are united, that they have common interests, and all this enhances the verbal and emotional impact on the electorate.

    Contrastive analysis of associative mechanisms of "human body build" concept verbalization In English, Russian and Armenian adjectives

    Abstract

    The objective of the study is to identify similarities and differences in the associations and methods of nomination, by extracting and analyzing the semantic components in adjectives describing physical characteristics of the human body in English, Russian and Armenian. The semantic analysis of the studied lexicosemantic group revealed that the associative mechanisms involved in the description of physical characteristic of the human body are based on the national cultural tradition. Comparison with animals and plants is used in a number of adjectives, however, different in the three languages studied. The allocation of certain parts of the body, yet not always the same in English, Russian and Armenian, is also observed. Thus, thinness is associated with sickness, while short stature in English and Armenian is identified as something incomplete.

    Adjectives derived from the names of literary characters and famous people are considered separately.

    Thus, the study revealed certain unity of associative images based on universal human cultural experience, as well as a number of diversities, conditioned by geographical location, landscape, national features, customs and other factors that contribute to a language peculiarity in the consciousness of the English, Russian and Armenian language speakers.
