About the Journal
Aims and Scope of the Journal
Historia: Philosophy & Theory is a double-blind peer-reviewed biannual international academic electronic journal of the Laboratory for Philosophy and Theory of History based in Yerevan State University, Armenia. The journal is published twice a year, in June and December.
The journal aims to comprehensively address philosophical matters pertaining to the disciplines of history and historiography, while concurrently delving into theoretical concerns associated with historical narratives, that of national and beyond.
It also opens to related fields, encompassing the intersections between history and the humanities, as well as the social sciences, thereby creating an interdisciplinary platform.
Historia: Philosophy & Theory additionally features a dedicated section for Armenian Studies, extending invitations to researchers to submit papers addressing pertinent themes within this academic domain, contextualized within the framework of history.
Our overarching objective is to establish a comprehensive platform facilitating intercommunication among diverse theories of history. Distinct conceptions within the theoretical framework of history have evolved in relative isolation, with notable contributions from narrativism, the Annales School, and critical discourse. It is imperative to recognize that these epistemic perspectives, while individually significant, may encounter a crisis unless they synergistically draw upon one another's advancements. What is more, in light of the dynamic shifts in the contemporary world order, there arises an exigency for a supple methodological approach that can effectively elucidate the complexities of our present and future. Hence, the compelling necessity for a methodological dialogue becomes acutely pronounced, underscoring the necessity for a nuanced and collaborative engagement with diverse methodologies to comprehend the intricacies of our reality.
There is no fee for submitting, reviewing, and publishing in this journal for authors!
