Abstract

The purpose of the article is to study the structural changes in the economy of the Republic of Armenia, their trends over the past 20 years. Approaches to assessing the progressiveness of the new structure of the economy and the possibilities of creating new added value vary depending on productivity, the export orientation of the economy, and other criteria. Based on the mentioned goal, the authors highlighted the following tasks: they studied the GDP production account and its structure over a long period of time, through the formation of primary incomes and distribution, the use of GDP, as well as interdependencies and patterns that exist between wage and savings. Monitoring of production and use of GDP revealed a number of patterns in changing the proportions of various sectors of the economy, in particular, reducing the share of industry, increasing the share of construction and services, as well as changes in the sectoral structure of GDP. The analysis carried out in the article also shows that over the period under review, the share of wages of employees in the GDP structure decreased, while the share of gross profit and gross mixed income increased, which indicates the underestimation of labor in Armenia
