The manifestations of India’s non-alignment policy in the conditions of the formation of the multipolar world

Abstract

From the early years of independence, the leadership of India set the goal of restoring the country to a worthy place in the world by increasing its economic, political, and military power, as well as developing ties with other states. Starting from the 2000s, during the formation of a multipolar world, despite fairly developed relations with Western countries, in its foreign policy India began to position itself as a representative of the interests of the “Global South”, implements international trade and economic projects, deepens cooperation with other centers of power and demonstrates activity in international organizations such as SCO and BRICS, preferring to maintain the balance between global powers, as it did during the period of bipolar world order.
