The article presents various approaches to the study of political attitudes, emphasizing their multidimensional nature. Considering the limited availability of validated methodologies for studying political attitudes, particularly the absence of Armenian-language instruments, as well as the importance of systematic and comprehensive research in this field, the study introduces an original methodology for measuring political attitudes. The primary aim of this methodology is to assess the tendencies underlying the formation of political attitudes and to reveal their manifestation patterns.
The methodology was developed through the integration of S. Asch’s theory of conformity and D. Kahneman and A. Tversky’s Prospect Theory principles. The development of the questionnaire involved three main stages: theoretical analysis, expert evaluation, and a pilot study. The pilot phase included 52 participants, and the results indicate a high level of internal consistency and reliability of the scales. Cronbach’s alpha was α = 0.871 for the conformity scale and α = 0.814 for the rationality scale. Based on the obtained data, quartile analysis was conducted to establish interpretative thresholds for the levels of conformity and rationality.
