Identification of natural springs, emerging in the gorges of mountain rivers, and those long-term qualitative and quantitative observations allow to substantiate the prospects of their use for water supply to settlements. Undoubtedly, long-term hydrogeological studies are very productive, but at the same time, very expendable. The paper proposes to correlate the data of short-term observations with the calculated balance of water resources, as well as to assess the probability of the minimum discharge by the method of statistical analysis. The studies were carried out according to the data of springs discharging on the northern slopes of the mountain of Aragats in the Mantash River basin.

The Armenian Highlands are characterized by the presence of sources of strong earthquakes, which also affect the level of seismic hazard in the territory of Armenia. In particular, the Van earthquake (23.10.2011, M = 7,2) manifested itself in many areas by intense seismic vibrations. Therefore, a comprehensive analysis of the active phase (23.10.2011–30.11.2012) of the aftershock process of this earthquake from the point of view of its possible impact on the seismic geodynamics of other potentially dangerous zones of the region under study is very important. The study of the spatio-temporal distribution of aftershocks with a magnitude of M ≥ 4,0 made it possible, in particular, to identify a certain relationship between seismic-geodynamic processes of some tectonic structures and focal zones of the Armenian Highlands.

The article analyzes the differences in the granulometric composition of fine-grained aggregate (the content of individual fractions, their ratios, gravel content, etc.), as well as the chemical composition and a number of calculated geochemical coefficients of different genetic types of loose rocks. There is a good informative value of the obtained data for identifying the dynamic and climatic conditions of the environment of their formation.

В статье рассматриваются изменения физико-химических свойств лесных почв (cambisols) Республики Армения под влиянием антропогенного воздействия. Из-за длительного и бессистемного использования лесных почв изменяется ряд их физико-химических свойств. В окультуренных почвах oтмечена тенденция к снижению гигроскопической влажностьи, содержания гумуса, количества карбонатов и показателя pH. Наблюдается значительное уменьшение общего количества поглощенных катионов в пахотных почвах, в частности снижение поглощенного Ca.

The necessary agroclimatic conditions for the growth and development of technical crops on the territory of the republic, the terms of the phenological phases, the prerequisites for the development of their cultivation space, the level of yield and crop yields have been analyzed and evaluated.

As an integral part of settlement pattern, rural areas are considered one of the primary components of territorial organization of society. The changes taking place in the latter have a siginificant impact on various processes of social development. Contemporary tendencies analysis and current problems revelation of RA rural settlement pattern transformation have been done in the article, solutions have been pointed out as well.

The current picture of the distribution of the population and settlements in Armenia has been affected by natural geographical, socio-economical and other factors. Because of the latter, the territory of the Republic of Armenia is distinguished by an extremely uneven distribution of the population and settlements. The article addresses the issues of the location of the population and settlements in the Republic of Armenia and the degree of appropriation of the area related to the latter.

The article proposes a concise and systematic theoretical framework of ethno-tourism as a separate type of tourism (definition, goals, motivational factors of the participants, development resource base, place in the tourism system, issues of sustainable development). Based on the above-mentioned theoretical provisions, the opportunities, main directions and perspective tendencies for the development of ethno-tourism in the Republic of Armenia are presented.

Interest in the formation of the state's image in the era of global competition is extremely. It takes effort to create an image, since this is a conscious creativity aimed at creating a certain, pre-programmed image. The geographical component of the image of a country, region, tourist destination is the basis for building its external and internal image. Any state has its adherents Thanks to these people the symbols of the country are created, which then fly around the world. Armenia is no exception in this sense. Competent promotion of the country's symbols in the media space creates a sense of an established image.

Tourism with its functions has become one of the key sectors of economic development in any region. It creates jobs, improves the living standards of the population and ensures the rapid development of the region. Tourism is a sector that provides growth in financial resources in a short period of time with little investment. Within the framework of this article, an attempt was made to analyze tourism development opportunities on the example of the village of Kalavan (Chambarak district, Gegharkunik Region).
