ANALYSIS OF QUANTITATIVE CHANGES AND TRENDS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF LANDS OF SETTLEMENTS IN THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA

Abstract

Land is an essential natural resource, without which no human activity and, in general, life on the planet would be possible. Land has ecological, economic, and social significance, thanks to which it is used as a condition for human life. Land is a means of production. The rational and efficient use of any means of production contributes to the development and growth of a country's economy. The study analyzed the dynamics of changes in the area of land in populated areas in the Republic of Armenia in 2013–2022 (the study includes data up to 2022, as the RA Land Balance for 2022 was the last official publication). According to the study, the quantitative change in the above-mentioned land is due to a number of factors, including the transfer of land from other types of use to land in populated areas, an increase in construction volumes, measures aimed at modernizing residential areas, etc.
