Unconformity of present and ancient volcanic constructions brings to specific distribution of ground water run off. Discrepancy of reliefs is found in northern, western and South-Western parts of Karkachun River basin. For ground water development purposes buried local watersheds are of most importance, mainly the territory bounded by Karnut, Arevik, Hovtashen, Geghanist and Jrarat settlements. The annual ground water run off of this area is calculated about 41,5 million cubic meters.
In the ores of Thukhmanuk gold-polimetallic deposit gold and silver is presented in native and isomorphous form. The content of free gold is 30%, two times less silver (13–15%). In the monominerals of sfalerite, chalkopyrite, pyrit, galenit the contents of Au and Ag vary within the limits of 14.2–21.3 g/t and 44.7–82.4 g/t correspondingly.
On the basis of large-scale maps there has been done an attempt to analyze morphometric indicators of Zangezur contour (hypsometry, exposition of slopes, density and depth of surface breaking-up). It is proved, that not only litologic composition of rocks, but also tectonic movements of the contour, influence on the amount of morphometric indicators. The study of morphometric indicators of Zangezur contour is of great importance for planning and designing of engineering structures.
