Abstract

The present paper touches upon the practical use of translation in the English language teaching and presents the results of the research carried out in at the faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology of Yerevan State University. The study shows that translation process can largely be used as a pedagogical tool: translation activities are very important in helping learners to acquire, develop and strengthen their language skills: speaking, listening, reading, writing, as well as vocabulary and grammar.
