The paper deals with the linguistic and stylistic peculiarities of James Joyce’s works. The analysis is based on the usage of phraseological units in the famous collection of stories “Dubliners”. Phraseological units help to describe and interpret the mythological, historical, cultural and religious ideas and life of the Irish people. A special attention is paid to the translation of phraseological units into Armenian, because translation reveals all the nuances and emotional colourings hidden in them.
