Abstract

It is shown that the H2O2 +HOO- reaction rate is more in inverse emulsions stabilized by lecitin (Le) than in water solutions. In this case the reaction occurs in micelles nucleus. One of the Le pecularities is that it is a zwitterion type surfactant. In its molecule there are (-) and (+) charged «heads» which act on the cited reaction rate. This conclusion is verified adding different quantities of anionic (sodium dodecyl sulfate) and cationic (dodecyltrimethylammonium chloride) surfactants isolating in turn both charged heads with different extents and studying the reaction rate dependence on the isolation degree. The reaction rate is determined measuring the volume of the evoluated oxygen. According to obtained kinetic data both «heads» are active, but the (+) charged head is more active.
