The paper deals with allusions from both the Old and the New Testaments, as they make up an inseparable part of the Bible. The tradegy “Hamlet” by W. Shakespeare has been analysed in this regard, as the play is primarily based on such commonly used moral concepts as betrayal, vanity, falsification, flattery, vindictiveness, and forgiveness. Numerous examples are illustrated in Armenian through translations, because they enable to reveal all the nuances and emotional colouring hidden in them.
