    Abstract

The article focuses on one of the key aspects of family psychology and psychotherapy - family myths. The work theoretically analyzes a number of positions, approaches and views known in the professional literature, which in essence reveal the types of family myths, the peculiarities of formation, their functions, the effects of influences on family relations, etc. An attempt was made to study and analyze family myths with social-psychological approaches. The aim of the organized research was to reveal the connection between family myths and the socio-psychological characteristics of the family: adaptation and consolidation. The results show that the socio-psychological features of the family are mostly conditioned not by the degree of general expression of mythology, but by the nature and content of the family myth. The results of the research can be useful in  therapeutic work with families, as well as can be a basis for studying the problems of young families in terms of family myths.

    Abstract

The goal of the research is to increase the civic competence of students in educational institutions by involving ethno-cultural traditions. All over the world, national problems have aggravated, conflicts have arisen, for the solution to which new forms of intercultural and interethnic interactions are needed. Within the framework of the study, the situation was analyzed, the cultural traditions and values of the Armenian, as well as of peoples’ living in Armenia were studied, a two-stage sociological study was carried out, its results were analyzed and relevant recommendations were made. From the analysis of the results it became clear that the study of the traditions and habits leads to the development of the culture of one's own people և other nations and love, responsibility and an attitude towards the Motherland and the Country is formed.  Society has an objective need to form a competent citizen, who will be able to implement civil rights and obligations in the best way, who will have civil position and participation in the processes taking place in the country. The ethnocultural habits directly contribute to the formation of students' civic competence, and the inclusion of them into educational institutions will create potential opportunities for that. In order to build civic competence, first it needs to deveop skills among learners and educators who, in different life conditions (including crisis and risk), in various educational situations (as well as self-educational), will be able to make decisions, identify problems and propose solutions, as well as take targeted and responsible actions, developing creative and critical thinking.

EFFECT OF WEATHER TEMPERATURE ON FIRST IMPRESSION ABOUT ANOTHER PERSON

    D. M. Martirosyan
    View PDF
    Abstract

This research study investigates the hypothesis that warmer external temperature leads to a more positive first impression of one’s emotion and personality. The study involved two groups of participants, one for each weather setting (cold and warm outside temperature). The participants were asked to fill in a google form questionnaire consisting of a consent form, basic information about their gender, age and nationality, POMS-A test to evaluate their mood at the time, personality and emotion assessment of two pictures (male and female), and a question about their weather preference. Four MANOVA models were constructed: one to test differences among emotions, and another – among personality traits for each picture. All models produced insignificant results (pvalue> 0.05), thus giving us insufficient evidence to reject the null hypothesis of external temperature having no effect on the formation of first impressions. After presenting the findings, potential reasons for obtaining such results are discussed.
